David Massar’s and my 16-minute “Kalamazoo Gals” short documentary will experience its world premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre as part of the Golden State Film Festival in Hollywood on February 14th, 2025, Valentine’s Day, at high noon. LA friends, come out, see the film, and join us afterward for refreshments and a catch-up.
This short is the first glimpse of two projects we’re developing: a feature-length documentary and a scripted drama based on the incredible true story of the Kalamazoo Gals—the women who secretly built legendary Gibson guitars during WWII, as I uncovered in my book. David is co-producing and directing all aspects of the projects.
This premiere in the iconic Hollywood movie theater is the beginning of a festival journey that will take us across the country and worldwide with the short and the pitch for both other films. Stay tuned for upcoming festival announcements!
